Regular polishing is most often aimed at imparting shine using finishing pastes. Correction is a more in-depth, multi-stage process aimed at physically removing defects (scratches, oxidation, holograms) rather than temporarily masking them with waxes.
Correction effectively removes scratches that only affect the top layer of the polish. If the scratch extends to the primer or metal (it can be scratched with a fingernail), it cannot be completely removed without localized touch-up, but correction can make it significantly less noticeable.
Professional correction involves removing the minimum possible layer of varnish (usually a few microns). Modern equipment and thickness gauge measurements allow for safe operation, preserving the paintwork's strength for future treatments.
The correction result is permanent, as the defects are physically removed. However, to prevent the coating from becoming scratched again from washing and sand, we strongly recommend applying a protective coating (ceramic or wax) after the procedure and following gentle washing guidelines.
